This is what we were meant to do.
Eight simple words that defined nine markets across Ohio and Kentucky, one health system, and an overarching mission to care for those in our communities.
What began as a simple statement to solidify the purpose of leadership in the midst of a corporate merger turned into a defining proclamation of drive and determination from physicians and system leaders in nine unique geographic markets spanning 500 miles of the Midwest, from Paducah, Kentucky to Youngstown, Ohio.
Beginning with an emotionally-driven anthem and extending into targeted TV, print, outdoor, and social channels for each region, “This is what we were meant to do” expressed the essence of the Mercy Health mission and the core values at the root of the merger. That although geography may divide, a purpose unites. That as healthcare providers, they were not meant to be idle – they were meant to serve. A compelling and honest look at care from the perspective of the people who live it every day – “This is what we were meant to do” was much more than a statement – it was a movement, one that lives on with the brand to this day.
